Lead AWS DevOps Engineer | AWS Payments Transformation in Tier 1 UK Bank | up to £80,000 in Manchester/Edinburgh | up to £105,000 in London


A leading UK bank is seeking a highly skilled Lead DevOps Engineer to join their Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team as they embark on a major AWS payments platform transformation project. This project is a critical component of the bank's overall payments transformation strategy.


In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the pipelines for the bank's AWS payments platform, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and infrastructure. Beyond the initial launch, you will be responsible for managing the platform, ensuring it meets customer needs, and is reliable and resilient.


Key Requirements

  • Strong AWS: deep understanding of AWS services and infrastructure
  • DevOps and Terraform: expertise in CI/CD, configuration management, containers and IaC
  • Scripting/coding proficiency: Bash, Python or Golang
  • Cloud operations: experience running large mission critical workloads in AWS
  • Security: knowledge of cloud security best practices and implementation
  • Kafka: deploying, configuring, managing, and optimising Kafka infrastructure
  • Cilium: to enhance networking, security, and observability
  • (People management: experience leading a small team of SREs or DevOps Engineers)


This is a permanent role based in London, Manchester or Edinburgh with hybrid working.
