Head of IT (UK) – Shape the Future of Technology

Location: Glasgow, Scotland (Hybrid)

About the Role:

We are seeking a visionary IT leader to join our client, a leading global financial services firm, as Head of IT for the UK. As a key member of the European IT team, you will drive innovation, enhance efficiency, and lead a dynamic team in this critical role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technological evolution of our client's organization, ensuring secure and efficient IT systems that align with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to shape the UK's IT strategy within the European vision.
  • Oversee application and infrastructure development, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing IT team, fostering growth and best practices.
  • Manage project planning and budgets to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with European teams on IT operations, infrastructure, and information security to optimize the technology platform.

Requirements:

  • Degree in computer science, IT, or related field, with advanced technical and project management skills.
  • Focus on driving digital transformation, ensuring cybersecurity, fostering agility, leveraging data, promoting innovation, integrating AI solutions, achieving cost efficiency, and developing talent to align IT with business objectives.
  • Attract and develop a diverse, talented team with strong succession planning.
  • High Performance: Utilize OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) to drive excellence and effectively manage performance.
  • Engagement Champion: Foster a motivated workforce and utilize engagement surveys to measure success.
  • Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance to laws, regulations, and company policies, collaborating with Legal, HR, and Compliance teams.
