Job Duties:
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Maths lessons to secondary students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support as required, collaborating with colleagues and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students
  • Develop and implement effective classroom management strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, fostering a positive and productive learning atmosphere
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices
Required Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mathematics or relevant subject, with a strong foundation in Maths curriculum for secondary education
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs, demonstrating ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs
Experience:
  • Previous experience teaching Maths to secondary students, with a focus on SEMH needs
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs, showcasing ability to create a supportive learning environment
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Maths curriculum for secondary education, with ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents
  • Excellent classroom management skills, with ability to create a positive and productive learning atmosphere
Working Conditions:
  • Full-time position with regular school hours, working within a secondary school setting in Hornchurch, Greater London
