Job Title: Senior Principal Designer

Brandon James, a family-run multi-disciplinary consultancy, is seeking an experienced CDM Principal Designer to join their Birmingham team.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable Principal Designer to lead the implementation and compliance of CDM regulations across multiple projects. The successful candidate will provide expert advice on safety regulations and design risk management, overseeing the development of pre-construction information and construction phase plans.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation and compliance of CDM regulations across multiple projects.
  • Provide expert advice on safety regulations and design risk management.
  • Oversee the development of pre-construction information and construction phase plans.
  • Conduct health and safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Facilitate design review meetings and workshops to ensure risk management is prioritised.
  • Collaborate with clients, designers, and contractors to ensure effective communication of health and safety requirements.
Requirements
  • Degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  • In-depth knowledge of CDM regulations and design risk management.
  • Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH) or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in a senior or leadership role within a consultancy environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
