London, Greater London, United Kingdom Veritas Education Recruitment Full time

Are you a future Physics Teacher? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a recent Physics graduate looking to get into teaching. A high achieving secondary school in London may have the right role for you. As a Physics Academic Coach, you will be supporting students studying A-level Physics, with both course content and revision techniques. This is an excellent opportunity to gain a formal teaching qualification after your first year with them; this is an ideal way to train as a teacher in a hands-on environment.

The school works hard to minimize disparities some students may face, and to provide them with relevant opportunities and guidance to offset this. They strongly believe that when their students are properly supported, they will thrive. As a coach, you will work on a 1-1 and small group basis with A-level students to improve their subject knowledge. You will also hold interventions and focus groups for students who could benefit from increased support, as well as tailor your teaching style to individual students' needs. Working closely with students to help them develop revision techniques and preparing them for university applications is another part of the role.

This role would suit someone who is interested in training as a teacher, as there is an opportunity to gain a formal teaching qualification after a year in the role. There will also be a well-structured training program and you will be strongly supported by the school throughout your time with them. If you are looking for a role where you can make a difference, whilst kickstarting your career in education, this could be a great opportunity for you.

You will need:

  1. An undergraduate degree in Physics or a very closely related discipline
  2. A-level (or equivalent) in Mathematics/Further Maths
  3. Experience working with young people, for example as a tutor
  4. Strong knowledge of the Physics A-level curriculum
  5. The ability to empathize and build a rapport with young people

We offer:

  • A competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
  • Ongoing professional development and training
  • A supportive team environment
  • The opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our students
