The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a comprehensive and quality dietetic service for children managed under Cardiology, working to agreed standards, policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

* Providing high quality nutritional care for patients managed under the cardiology team
* On-going assessment of the patient's needs and making clinical decisions regarding the necessary nutritional support and dietary interventions
* Close liaison with the diet service technicians and tasks to support the operation and functions of the Special Feeds Unit and Diet Kitchen
* Teaching and supporting Band 6 dietitians, diet service technicians, dietetic assistants, dietetic support workers, nursing, medical and other healthcare professionals on all aspects of cardiology nutrition
* Maintenance and improvement of knowledge about current best practice and developments in cardiology dietetics as well as general paediatric dietetics

Requirements:

* Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent post-graduate qualification
* Registered as a Dietitian with the Health and Care Professions Council
* Post-graduate Paediatric Masters Modules (BDA/Uni of Plymouth)
* Significant experience of working in paediatric dietetics at band 6/7 level
* Knowledge of cardiology dietetics or a specialist area of dietetics
* Ability to provide weekend on-call service
* Excellent computer literacy and the ability to use different programmes
