PMLD Teacher Position

Protocol Education is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic PMLD Teacher to join our dedicated team. As a PMLD Teacher, you will be responsible for creating tailored learning experiences that meet the unique needs of our students with profound and multiple learning disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and deliver highly individualized lessons to meet the needs of students with PMLD, focusing on communication, sensory experiences, and life skills.
- Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to provide a holistic approach to education and care.
- Develop and implement appropriate learning activities that are engaging, creative, and sensory-rich.
- Use a range of alternative communication strategies such as Makaton, PECS, and assistive technology.
- Promote independence, self-esteem, and social interaction in a safe and supportive environment.
- Maintain up-to-date records of students' progress and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings, including EHCP reviews.
- Adapt teaching approaches to suit the unique and diverse needs of each learner.
- Encourage a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience in working with students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) or severe learning difficulties (SLD).
- Strong knowledge of differentiated teaching approaches and alternative communication strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with students with complex needs.
