Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our power consultancy team as an Energy Transition Modelling Specialist. This role will involve using in-house modelling software to simulate the future power system and provide forecasts on key outputs such as emissions levels, costs and revenues of assets.

As an Energy Transition Modelling Specialist, you will be working closely with clients to understand their needs and provide market leading advice and support. You will also be responsible for investigating and analysing complex electricity market data for GB and European markets.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of electricity markets and policies, including how the electricity sector interacts with other parts of the energy sector. You will also have excellent IT skills and data analysis abilities, including Microsoft software such as Excel and PowerPoint.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to this, we provide a range of benefits including 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, private medical insurance, life assurance, income protection, and digital GP services.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of innovative solutions to support the energy transition. As an Energy Transition Modelling Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Using in-house modelling software to simulate the future power system and provide forecasts on key outputs such as emissions levels, costs and revenues of assets.
  • Investigating and analysing complex electricity market data for GB and European markets.
  • Developing an in-depth knowledge of electricity markets and policies, including how the electricity sector interacts with other parts of the energy sector.
  • Interacting with clients to understand their needs and provide market leading advice and support.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Level Maths A Grade (taking into account any contextualisation of grades).
  • Competence in IT skills and data analysis – including Microsoft software such as Excel and PowerPoint.
  • An interest in the energy transition and an awareness of topical issues.
