Job Summary

At National Nuclear Laboratory, we're seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in delivering engineering design packages to the required time, cost, and quality standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Produce design deliverables, such as drawings, reports, and calculations, to agreed standards of safety, cost, quality, and time.
  • Contribute to the development and application of technical and managerial processes and systems in your work area, under supervision.
  • Comply with all legislative, regulatory, and company policy standards and processes applicable to the role.

Essential Criteria

  • Hold a graduate degree (min 2:1) in a relevant engineering discipline with demonstrable design office experience or a lower professional qualification, such as a BTEC, typically gained through an apprenticeship, with demonstrable design office experience.
  • Have working knowledge of 3D CAD systems, preferably Inventor / Vault.
  • Be able to obtain SC level security clearance, which includes identity, employment, financial, and criminal record checks, plus 5 years' worth of UK residency.

Desirable Criteria

  • Familiarity with engineering design stages and processes, including design reviews and HAZOPs.
