Role Overview

As a Financial Controller Assistant, you will support the smooth running of the Finance Department under the guidance of the Financial Controller. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, organisational skills and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss account and balance sheet, ensuring timely submission and accuracy.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of inventory, identifying price and usage variances, standard costs and slow-moving inventory for analysis.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor projects and provide support to the Financial Controller in implementing internal controls and ensuring compliance with IFRS accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with junior finance team members, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  1. A recognised accounting qualification, such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
  2. Prior experience in cost accounting and financial analysis, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a good level of English proficiency.
  4. Proficient IT skills, including Excel, to effectively utilise financial software and systems.
