We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Architect to lead our IoT solutions team. As a key member of our technical leadership, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our Ruby on Rails platforms built within AWS architecture.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Ruby on Rails and AWS architecture, with experience in developing full web stacks. You will have a proven track record in leading projects independently and aspire to grow into a leadership role.


Responsibilities include:



  • Developing and implementing innovative approaches to improve code quality and development productivity.
  • Processing and simplifying complex data sets, ensuring a future-proof platform.
  • Working closely with senior leadership and stakeholders to define and execute the technology roadmap.

Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • Proven expertise in Ruby on Rails development.
  • Strong experience with AWS architecture, including Amazon Load Balancing, SQS, CloudWatch monitoring and Lambda for microservices.
  • MongoDB experience to store, aggregate and query large volumes of data.
  • Hands-on experience in developing and leading web development projects.
  • Understanding of algorithmic data processing.
  • Ability to work remotely with bi-weekly travel to the Head Office in Watford.
