Job Title: Technical Services Manager

Division: UK Fit Out, Aftercare

Location: London

Role purpose

A great opportunity to work as a Technical Services Manager in our Aftercare team within the Fit-Out division. This role will be working with a small team responsible for day 2 projects within occupied office spaces, ranging in value up to £1.5mil.

  1. Provide technical support to numerous Special Works projects from conception through to final completion and handover.
  2. Manage the building services design/installation process and to minimise risks associated with the services installation.
  3. Ensure that the engineering services are installed and commissioned to the required standards and quality.

Key accountabilities

  1. Ensuring technical compliance on projects up to a value of £1.5million.
  2. Involved with design teams and trade contractors at site meeting level and project meeting level and contributes toward the project report.
  3. Reviews design and shop drawings, and the project programme and contributes value engineering skills.
  4. Responsible for suggesting trade contractors, systems and manufacturers for team appraisal.
  5. Carries out M&E appraisals and contributes these to proposal team for inclusion in proposal.
  6. Attends at 'pitch' meetings.
  7. Takes involvement in completion of the monthly engineering services status report and submitting it promptly to the SESM.
  8. Ensuring compliance with appropriate sections of the Best Practice Manual.
  9. Identifying, solving and reporting issues likely to affect each project.
  10. Paying close attention to matters of health and safety.

Skills & experience

  1. Proven post qualification design or project management experience.
  2. Good level of general mechanical and electrical engineering services knowledge.
  3. Competent in communicating and presenting.
  4. Patient, reliable, persistent and thorough.
  5. Flexible team member.
  6. Confident, motivated and able to work under own initiative.
  7. Excellent attention to detail.

Qualifications

  1. Preferably degree qualified (in building services engineering).
  2. Or seeking to progress from a mechanical or electrical trade background.
