Job Overview:

We are currently recruiting for a Flexible Skilled Operator - Nights to join our team based at our client's site. As a skilled operator, you will be responsible for adhering to health and safety requirements, ensuring pre and post-run checks are carried out, and reporting any faults or defects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to relevant health and safety requirements, including safety wear, PPE, and manual handling guidelines.
  • Ensure pre and post-run checks are carried out and any faults or defects are reported via appropriate reporting systems.
  • Carry out all FLT duties, including loading and unloading vehicles correctly.
  • Complete post-run checks and cleaning of machinery and trucks to ensure all equipment is in good condition.
  • Assist in transporting printing plates out to the press lines and fitting plates when required.
  • Provide assistance to the Newsprinters Press crews as needed.
  • Report any health and safety concerns to the appropriate point of escalation.
  • Follow safe systems of working as dictated in training information guides and risk assessments.
  • Keep the immediate working area safe and clear of impediments.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in line with area visual standards.
  • Liaise and communicate with team members and other staff.

  • You must have the right to work in the UK.
  • Excellent team working skills and ability to integrate with colleagues.
  • Flexibility to move between areas to meet business needs.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work unsupervised.
  • PC skills.

This is a fully flexed position with a 4 on 4 off shift pattern. The salary is £13.24 per hour, with an average of 37.5 hours per week. Holidays are pro rata, inclusive of Bank Holidays and Public Holidays.
