Job Title: Head of Vocational Studies

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Vocational Studies to join our team at White Trees Group. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the quality of education for all pupils, ensuring they access their bespoke programmes and receive effective pastoral care to support their social and emotional progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective learning programmes that meet the needs of all pupils
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure high-quality teaching and learning
  • Monitor and track pupil progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address these
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and a passion for education
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to education
  • Manage and develop staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver high-quality education
  • Ensure all staff have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities
  • Manage the various venues and source new venues when necessary
  • Have a highly visible presence across the school sites to support the maintenance of a positive school ethos and positive behaviour

Requirements:

  • A good undergraduate degree
  • QTS
  • Qualifications in area of expertise (forest, outdoor education, behaviour etc)
  • Previous experience of working with pupils to support their learning and social, emotional development
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible
  • Solution focussed attitude
  • Be patient
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding children
  • Be passionate about supporting teaching and providing the best possible opportunities for all pupils
  • A commitment to the school's ethos and vision
