Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Composite/GRP Boat Builder to join our team at Marine Resources Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the construction and installation of high-quality composite and GRP components for commercial and military craft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture composite and GRP components using hand-laid and infusion techniques.
  • Design and create patterns for small components from 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Construct and install internal and external structures, including sub-mouldings, lifting structures, and sub-components such as hatches and doors.
  • Prepare surfaces for gel repair and painting, including filling, fairing, and priming.
  • Diagnose and solve problems related to composite and GRP construction.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in new build GRP construction, including polyester/vinylester and epoxy.
  • Marine qualifications are desirable.
  • Experience working in a high-quality new build, custom manufacturer environment.
  • Ability to work to a high standard, meet deadlines, and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
