Support Assistant for Students with Additional Needs

A specialist provision in Stockport is seeking a full-time Learning Support Assistant to work with students in class and aid learning. The school supports students with significant additional needs, and the team of experienced staff work together to ensure every student progresses at a good rate.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work within a classroom with specific students who need help with pieces of work. You will work one-to-one and sometimes in small groups to explain work, outcomes, and provide feedback to students to motivate them to work to the best of their ability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and motivate students with additional needs in a school environment
  • Work with students one-to-one and in small groups to explain work and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with experienced staff to ensure individualised plans are followed

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting students with additional needs in a school environment
  • Maths and English GCSE qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience of different complex additional needs

This is a full-time position, and you will be required to work Monday to Friday during school hours. You should be able to be consistent in the role and meet the needs of the students and the school.
