Residential Construction Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Quantity Surveyor (QS) or an Assistant Quantity Surveyor (AQS) ready to progress into a QS role. The ideal candidate will have some civil engineering experience, preferably in residential projects, and a strong willingness to learn and develop their skills in quantity surveying.
Key Responsibilities:- Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and budgets for residential construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial goals.
- Site Monitoring: Conduct site visits as required to monitor progress, assess site conditions, and ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Contract Management: Support contract management processes, including preparing and negotiating tender documents, contracts, and variations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit regular financial reports reflecting project status, forecasting, and any necessary financial adjustments.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout project lifecycles.
- Professional Development: Actively seek opportunities to learn from experienced team members and participate in professional development activities.
- A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not essential for AQS candidates with strong experience.
- For QS Role: Minimum of 2 years of experience in quantity surveying, ideally within the residential or civil sectors.
- For AQS Role: Some experience in a similar role or a strong desire to learn, with experience in civil engineering projects.
- Proficient in industry-standard software (e.g., Excel, CostX, or equivalent QS tools) and familiar with relevant regulations and standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members both verbally and in writing.
- High level of accuracy in work and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to mitigate risks and resolve issues proactively.
This is an office-based role located in the North West, with occasional site visits required. Office hours are 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 4:00 PM finish on Fridays. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing priorities are essential in this role.
