Quality Assurance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer to join our team in Cumbria, working on complex projects within the Nuclear Industry.
Job Scope and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and verify quality, proposing improvements to ensure effective delivery, minimize costs, and meet customer and Sellafield specifications.
- Support the handover of project documentation to clients.
- Contribute to delivering projects' Quality Assurance and Control Strategies.
- Plan, evaluate, and verify quality, proposing and embedding improvements to ensure effective delivery, minimize costs, and meet customer and stakeholder requirements.
- Assist in delivering projects' portfolio quality improvement plans in accordance with project or operational plant objectives.
- Support the delivery of an efficient Learning from Experience process at the project level.
- Deploy quality assurance and control activities to support right-first-time delivery for their area.
- Support the implementation of the SSEP handover process.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Assist in monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on delivery performance quality in a specified area through evaluation and assessment of relevant performance trend data.
- Review and acceptance of relevant project supplier quality submissions.
- Contribute to implementing an agreed Quality and Lifetime Record strategy for SSEP.
- Assist in developing and agreeing quality plans for project activity, identifying the level and frequency of inspection required to monitor quality standards.
- Provide technical advice to project functions.
- Assist in identifying and proposing quality improvements, presenting recommendations to relevant stakeholders and committees.
- Assist in investigating quality-related concerns and events, and identify appropriate corrective/preventive action.
This role is subject to the candidate's ability to obtain a minimum SC security clearance and obtain a Site Pass.
Essential Experience:
- Graduate in a relevant discipline with work experience in a similar role on project delivery or equivalent work experience.
- Project experience within Sellafield or in a project environment with similar complexity and risk.
- Relevant security clearance level to access and inspect areas of site within area of responsibility.
- Experience and ability to review and accept Lifetime Quality records on behalf of SL.
- Ability to work within a project team.
Essential Qualifications:
- Relevant quality-specific qualifications (e.g., CQI, Auditor).
