Project Planning Specialist
At AtkinsRéalis, we are seeking a skilled Project Planning Specialist to join our Project & Programme Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing project schedules, participating in interactive planning workshops, and ensuring all activities are logic linked and aligned with project deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare project schedules, including baseline schedules, critical path, resources, work breakdown structure, milestones, and coding.
- Participate in and chair interactive planning workshops to develop comprehensive schedules using best practice and benchmarking data.
- Ensure all activities are logic linked and aligned with project deliverables, project execution plan, and contracting strategy.
- Update schedule progress in accordance with processes and procedures, validating work completed.
- Identify and explain variances between current schedule, plan, earned value, and forecasts, and communicate these clearly to the project team.
- Work alongside the cost controller to identify key variances between the schedule and costs.
- Work with the project team to identify resources and man hours required to complete project activities and keep these updated throughout the project.
- Prepare project reports, trending charts, and schedule analysis on a periodic basis and lead progress communications and update meetings.
Requirements:
- Proficient in MS Office suite of software, especially in Microsoft Excel.
- Preferable knowledge in Primavera P6 and ability to learn new software as and when required.
- Knowledge of project management techniques, including critical path method, progress measurement, and earned value technique.
- Preferable experience in project planning, analysis, and reporting.
- Knowledge of adhering to policies and procedures.
- Ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail - solid report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work well with clients and stakeholders, as part of a project team, build and maintain good working relationships with all parties.
- Must have good communication skills and ability to lead meetings.
Security Clearance:
This role may require security clearance, and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview.
