Job Title: Property Solicitor or Conveyancer

We are seeking an experienced Property Solicitor or Conveyancer to join our team in St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of conveyancing transactions from instruction to completion, registration, and closure of files.
  • Take instructions, keep accurate file notes, communicate with clients and third parties, and complete tasks.
  • Draft legal documents, including Standard Precedent Letters, Contract Packs, Title Reports, Exchange and Completion letters, general correspondence, and Land Registry and HMRC forms.
  • Carry out Pre-completion, Land Registry, and Conveyancing searches accurately and timely.
  • Ensure files are ready for exchange and completion, with all necessary paperwork and funds in place.
  • Perform Post Completion work, including preparing and sending applications to the Land Registry, Stamp Duty Land Tax submissions, file closures, and checking account ledgers.
  • Handle a mixed caseload of Freeholds and Leaseholds, with potential training on complex matters such as shared ownership, unregistered properties, acting for companies, lease variations, and extensions, and new builds.

Requirements:
  • Qualified candidates with a Law Degree, LPC, Licensed Conveyancer, Solicitor, or Legal Executive (FCILEX) are preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in managing a conveyancing caseload is required.
  • Excellent communication, time management, organisational, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently or as part of a team are necessary.
  • Knowledge of Case Management Systems and Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook, is preferred but not essential.
