The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Controls Manager to join our busy and expanding Energy & Natural Resources team, who are undertaking a range of Controls & Performance duties on high-profile Projects/Programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-discipline teams of project controls professionals to deliver effective, consistent, assured, and value-adding project controls services to clients across diverse and complex programmes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project controls processes to create efficiency and increase benefits to clients.
  • Define and implement project controls approaches across the project, programme, and portfolio levels, allowing effective decision-making at all levels.
  • Define and implement effective governance and assurance processes around project controls products.
  • Work with clients to develop relevant breakdown structures and support scope definitions.
  • Define scaled, tailored, and integrated approaches for project controls and document these (for example, in a Project Control System Definition).
  • Work with the Integrated Project Team to establish a robust, accurate Performance Measurement Baseline and manage the change control process.
  • Work with Project and Commercial Management to establish the Supplier Project Controls contract requirements and collaborate with suppliers to integrate and analyze their performance data.
  • Ensure scope, cost, risk, and schedule integration and alignment, and analyze performance data to provide delivery insight and facilitate delivery decisions.
  • Train and coach clients and less experienced team members on performance and reporting management processes and practices.
  • Assure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of the Project Controls team's output.
  • Undertake line management activities, including career development and performance management.

Requirements

  • Ability to interact with Senior Management/Leadership members when delivering updates on Performance Management within a complex project/programme environment.
  • Ability to lead a team responsible for defining and delivering performance management cadences on complex projects/programmes, along with all associated processes and reports.
  • Guide the team on the appropriate use of systems and tools (such as Power BI and Excel) in relation to Performance Management, Analysis, and Reporting.
  • Excellent communicator (both written and verbal) to liaise with the client, contractors, and designers.
  • Works to make positive change happen by embracing challenges and opportunities for clients.
  • Effectively connects and communicates with people to collaborate to deliver the best work.
  • Brings out the best in everyone by helping each other make the most of their potential through proactive collaboration and effective teamworking.
  • Takes responsibility for the development of personal performance and core skill set.
  • Works with empathy and treats everyone with care and respect to continue to make T&T a great place to work.
  • A UK driving license or the ability to travel to client sites across the region, as required, is essential.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in the application of several Project Controls disciplines (Planning, Cost Estimation, Cost Management, Risk Management, or Reporting) in multiple projects.
  • Practical experience of integrating Project Controls disciplines and the ability to assess the maturity of a team and ways of working.
  • Experience in managing Stakeholders.
  • Experience in using some Project Controls software (Primavera P6, Active Risk Manager, Ecosys, etc.).
