The Role

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Fortem Cares. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our capital works programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to support business decision-making.
  • Work in partnership with Operations Management to develop and implement effective cost control strategies.
  • Lead the line management of Assistant Quantity Surveyors and be accountable for their development.
  • Maximise cash flow through monthly invoicing and resolve client queries efficiently.
  • Monitor and analyse management information to inform data-driven decision-making.
  • Identify potential disputes and report to line management.
  • Ensure sub-contractor orders accurately reflect main contract requirements.
  • Support the Senior Quantity Surveyor in preparing and reporting information, including Cost Value Reconciliations and management accounts.

Essential Criteria

  • QS degree or equivalent training and relevant experience.
  • Excellent numeracy and organisation skills.
  • Strong data interrogation skills.
  • Excellent IT knowledge, including high-level Excel skills.
  • Contractual awareness and negotiating skills.
  • Line management experience and the development of people.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant contract conditions.

Desirable Criteria

  • Working towards MCIOB or RICS membership.
