Job Title: Senior Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our team at KBM Resourcing Ltd. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of new and modified tools, products, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of new and modified tools, products, and equipment, from concept development to commercial product launch.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior design engineers and draughtsmen.
  • Oversee the hands-on work during assembly and testing of prototype or new designs.
  • Supervise and mentor junior design engineers and draughtsmen on specific tasks and track their project tasks on larger projects.
  • Support field testing and stay up-to-date with developments in new technology and techniques.
  • Contribute to the development of engineering processes and standards.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical), supported by significant experience.
  • Product knowledge of oilfield surface and/or downhole equipment.
  • Experience in designing oilfield products, such as hydraulic control units, pressure control equipment, wireline/slickline tools, structural frames, through tubing tools, or portable hydraulic power skids.
  • Proficient in using 2D or 3D CAD software, ideally Autodesk Inventor.
  • Able to perform calculations/analysis pertaining to product design using appropriate software.
  • Knowledge of material selection, including metals, plastics, and elastomers for oilfield use.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
