Project Planning Manager

The Role
We are recruiting a Planning Manager for our consulting division to work on a major rail infrastructure project in London. As a Planning Manager, you will manage the planning and monitoring of projects throughout all stages. You will work with the operations team to develop efficient project methodologies and execute timely project delivery. You will identify rectification actions and influence parties responsible to complete these actions.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop the project plan, programme, and planning report in accordance with Lendlease planning procedures
• Develop the preconstruction and construction methodology with the project team to enable efficient and effective project delivery
• Report project progress against the contract and delivery programmes at agreed regular intervals
• Support the project team in creating and statusing medium and short-range programmes
• Produce a weekly project dashboard to provide weekly updates on progress and key issues
• Act as the project conscience and advise on critical issues and strategy as appropriate
• Assist in chairing the weekly planning meeting to coordinate project programmes, progress updates, delay records, and key forthcoming milestones
• Review change proposals for time impact
• Assess and record time impacts of delays and event analysis
• Record as-built production rates and delays for benchmarking future projects
• Facilitate project team understanding and ownership of the plan and programme
Requirements
• Essential: Previous experience working on Network Rail, HS2, Crossrail, or TFL projects
• Good understanding of pre-construction processes and procurement methods
• Appreciation of primary forms of construction contracts and key commercial terms
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and senior management
• Ability to produce reports and diagrams to convey proposed sequences and methodologies
• Working knowledge of P6
• Knowledge of CPA planning techniques and project controls
• Must have NEC contract experience
• Desirable: Experience in the specific industry sector to which the project relates
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
