Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field IT Support Technician to join our team at Goonvean Group.

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploying, configuring, and operating IT infrastructure in customer sites.
  • Maintaining and enhancing the IT infrastructure and infrastructure components.
  • Managing and applying software updates to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Carrying out routine operational procedures, including the execution of specified automation tools/scripts.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Installing and testing, or decommissioning and removing, systems or system components.
  • Using standard procedures and diagnostic tools to test installations, correct problems, and document results.
  • Installing or removing hardware and/or software, using supplied installation instructions and tools, including handover to the client.
  • Contributing to the development of installation procedures and standards.

Security Operations:

  • Delivering management, technical, and administrative services to implement security controls and security management strategies.
  • Receiving and responding to routine requests for security support. Maintaining records and advising relevant persons of actions taken.
  • Assisting in the investigation and resolution of issues relating to access controls and security systems.
  • Documenting incident and event information and producing incident, exception, and management reports.

Network Support:

  • Providing maintenance and support services for communications networks.
  • Assisting in the investigation and resolution of network problems.

Application Support:

  • Delivering management, technical, and administrative services to support and maintain live applications.
  • Assisting in the investigation and resolution of issues relating to applications.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a service desk or support role.
  • Customer-focused roles and dealing with a wide range of people.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Admin Centre.
  • Experience supporting Windows Client OS.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory tools.
  • Basic understanding of network technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Have or working towards Microsoft 365/Azure fundamentals/Educator.
