About the Role

The Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) Regimental Headquarters (RHQ) is seeking a skilled Engineering Assurance Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the RHQ, you will play a critical role in delivering support to the moral component of fighting power by providing leadership, direction, and guidance to the Regimental family.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery, assurance, development, and support of Professional Engineering Institute registrations for REME personnel. This will involve working closely with the wider REME Headquarters team to further whole-life development for our personnel, handling revised procedures, and acting as a mentor to applicants for Incorporated (IEng) and Chartered Engineer (CEng) registration.

You will also be responsible for liaising directly with Professional Engineering Institutions to foster strong links and develop a simplified path for accreditation for REME personnel. This will involve mapping REME competencies to the UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competencies and negotiating with PEIs to identify career break points for REME personnel that ensure they are able to gain professional accreditation in line with their qualifications and experience.

The ideal candidate will have a suitable degree or equivalent in an engineering subject, be an Incorporated Engineer (IEng), and have a strong understanding of Professional Engineering Registration. They will also possess excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to make effective decisions and manage a quality service. Leadership and seeing the big picture are also essential skills for this role.
