Teaching Fellow Opportunity

Longsands Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join their team as a Teaching Fellow.

As a Teaching Fellow, you will play a vital role in supporting the professional work of teachers and contributing to the academic success of students.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Complementing the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision.
  • Facilitating and encouraging a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
  • Contributing to raising standards of student attainment.
  • Supporting the work of classroom teachers and the students under their supervision.

Requirements:

  • A minimum 2.2 Degree, with a demonstrable passion for your subject.
  • Be an excellent role model who actively promotes the skills, attributes and behaviour important in a classroom.
  • Experience of working with young people in a busy environment.
  • An understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people.
  • Experience of working in a primary or secondary school.
  • Expertise in communicating to groups of people, especially young people
  • Good working knowledge of and skills in Office applications e.g. Word, PowerPoint and internet/email
  • Be willing to apply for Teach First Training Programme for the 2023-24 academic year.
