We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at PayPoint plc. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and scalability of our payment platform.

About the Role

This is a hybrid role that requires collaboration with product engineering teams to improve the observability of their applications, create and maintain standards and ways of working that promote the reliability of our platform, and promote a culture of accountability and ownership by creating tooling and automation that allows product engineers to effectively operate their services in production.

  • Provide primary on-call support for applications where appropriate.
  • Work with product teams to balance new feature delivery with well-defined service level objectives (SLOs).
  • Proactively monitor production systems to identify and remediate potential performance problems before they materialise.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Software development skills in one or more high-level languages, preferably C#/.NET.
  • Experience in a similar role at a company with a distributed cloud architecture.
  • Experience with containerisation and Kubernetes.
  • Experience providing on-call support for real-time systems where downtime has a significant impact on customers.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, plus a range of benefits including 25 days' holiday, on-site gym membership, and access to our online benefits portal. At PayPoint plc, we are committed to creating an inclusive culture where everyone can thrive and feel a sense of belonging.
