About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team at Kier Group. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in supporting the generation of profitable tenders for authorisation and submission, maximising the order pipeline and its conversion into market share, revenue, and operating profit within the business unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate the costs of projects, determining contractual, financial, technical, and operational risks, and identifying opportunities to minimise risk and maximise gross profit.
  • Support the fulfilment of the pipeline of contracts safely, on time, and to the required quality while maximising gross profit and customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the generation of tenders, proposing costs, and estimating resources for projects.
  • Lead, manage, and motivate the estimating team on projects by promoting best practice.
  • Participate in the winning of contracts while minimising risk and maximising profit by estimating the costs for tenders, negotiating with suppliers and subcontracts, and supporting value engineering.
  • Build and retain commercial relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors during the tender and fulfilment process.
Requirements
  • Construction estimating experience of schemes ideally with a Tier 1 contractor.
  • Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor on large schemes.
  • Excellent research, proposal writing, and oral presentation skills.
