About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Orthopaedic Scrub Team Leader to join our Halton hospitals elective and Trauma service at Captain Sir Tom Moore Building.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication, influencing and leadership skills and be expected to have extensive experience within their respective fields.

Main Responsibilities
  • Direct line management responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of elective perioperative care programs.
  • Leading, motivating, and supporting a team to provide the highest standard of care.
  • Managing resources, delegating workload, and monitoring progress.
  • Experience of Change Management Strategy and ability to work as part of a team.
About Us

Captain Sir Tom Moore building (Halton site) is a site with four laminar flow theatres and performs a wide range of orthopaedic surgery, including elective orthopaedics, sports injury, joint revision, and ambulatory trauma cases.

Warrington Hospital has eight theatres on the Warrington acute site, providing services for various specialties, including Gynaecology, Obstetrics, General Surgery, Urology, Breast Surgery, ENT, Dental, Colorectal, Ophthalmic, Trauma & Orthopaedics, and Paediatrics.

Job Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years post-registration experience.
  • Evidence of department management and experience of leading, motivating, and supporting a team.
  • Experience of managing resources, delegating workload, and monitoring progress.
  • Experience of Change Management Strategy and ability to work as part of a team.
Qualifications and Skills
  • HCPC ODP Registration or NMC Registration.
  • Perioperative Post-Registration Education and recent Personal & Professional Development.
  • Surgical Scrub and Circulating accredited course.
  • Preceptor/Mentor or Clinical Assessors Course.
  • Recognised Recovery Module.
  • Recognised Transfer Course.
  • Surgical First Assistant Qualification.
  • ALS Certificate.
Physical Skills and Effort
  • Ability to accept responsibility for a department as required.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and project a positive image.
  • Delegation abilities and excellent time management skills.
  • Problem-solving approach and skills.
  • Decision-making skills - clinical and non-clinical.
  • Flexibility/Adaptability to be able to work across the Directorate as required to meet patient needs.
