Job Summary:

Stericycle is seeking a highly motivated and reliable Plant Operator to join our team in Ashford. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient management of clinical waste at our plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Unload vehicles and trailers, and effectively maneuver waste on the plant and weigh containers.
  • Ensure waste containers are emptied, cleaned, and stored in a suitable area ready for collection.
  • Coordinate the reception of all deliveries, including suppliers and contractors, and oversee the safe handling of loose waste.
  • Operate a forklift truck as required and participate in plant shutdowns as necessary.
  • Maintain company operational records and data, and draw attention to management any major defects or concerns.
  • Work under the direction of the Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager, and observe and comply with all safety notices and signs.
  • Attend training courses or instruction specific to the job as required, and perform additional duties as necessary to ensure safe compliance and continuation of operations.

  • Self-motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic individual with a good health record.
  • A team player who can work effectively under pressure and is looking for a challenge.
  • Able to work on own initiative, punctual, and demonstrate a flexible approach to hours including shift work.
