Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Oxford Instruments is a leading company in the field of high-tech tools and systems for research and industry. As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities- Review and measure current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and agree targets with the Manufacturing Team Leaders.
- Measure key business metrics such as product yield and wRMA rate, and implement projects to improve these metrics.
- Champion shop floor Lean/ six sigma programs and initiatives, and establish and implement six sigma standards throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Design shop floor layouts to support new product introduction and process re-engineering of existing products.
- Determine special purpose and standard tooling requirements to support the manufacture of all products.
- Create and maintain manufacturing shop floor documentation for new and existing products.
- Support vendor cost, quality and delivery performance in the supply of sub-assembly products and services.
- Ensure New Product Introductions (NPI) & Engineering change are implemented effectively.
- A degree/HND in Manufacturing and/or Electronics engineering or relevant equivalent experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques with a proven track record of delivering positive cost, quality and performance results.
- Demonstrated ability to utilise structured problem solving methodologies.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality Management System.
- Knowledge of Project Management techniques and experience leading cross-functional project teams.
- Working knowledge of design processes (DFx), new product introduction and product lifecycle management.
- Computer literate with experience of using ERP/MRP systems such as production routings and BOM Structures.
