The Ashford & St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking highly motivated and compassionate healthcare professionals to join our team as Senior Healthcare Support Workers. About the Role
As a Senior Healthcare Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, working closely with Registered Nurses and Nursing Associates to ensure the highest standard of care. Your duties will include assisting with daily living tasks, such as hygiene, continence, nutrition, and mobility needs. You will also be required to provide one-to-one observation for patients who present a high risk of harm or are vulnerable. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to undertake training and competencies related to the role, such as ECGs, venepuncture, and cannulation.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Functional level of English and Maths, as well as a Care Certificate in Acute Care. Previous experience working as a Healthcare Support Worker within the NHS, ideally for at least six months, is essential. You should also have a strong understanding of the role of Healthcare Support Worker in a hospital setting and be able to demonstrate excellent patient-centred care skills. A flexible approach to shift work is also required, including evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
