Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Vickerstock. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for maintaining all manufacturing plant, equipment, and facilities in good working order.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
  2. Assist in the development of planned preventative maintenance schedules (PPM).
  3. Carry out PPM schedules as necessary and planned works orders as required.
  4. Assist visiting specialist engineers when necessary.
  5. Report breakdown root cause, equipment faults, and concerns to line Manager.
  6. Perform troubleshooting to solve minor repair issues.
  7. Make full use of CMMS.
  8. Plan/prioritize workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time.
  9. Assist in the meeting of daily production plan.
  10. Fill in job tickets/CMMS on completion of work accurately and in a timely manner.
  11. Identify spares requirements, log usage, and aid in control.
  12. Assist in the moving, installation, and repositioning of machines and equipment.

  1. Work in compliance with the Health & Safety Policy to ensure hazards are identified and risk assessed and controlled.
  2. Be proactive in managing personal health, safety, and wellbeing and that of colleagues.
  3. Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to safety.
  4. Work efficiently to not negatively affect the environment or damage company property.
  5. Protect the general security of the site and the people working in it.
  6. Ensure process changes comply with all relevant health and safety policies.
Communication:
  1. Conduct all communication in a professional, positive, and clear manner.
  2. Provide clear and persuasive oral communication.
  3. Openly give and receive feedback.
  4. Actively participate in meetings with good presentation skills.
  5. Ensure written communication is clear and informative with good spelling and grammar.
  6. Communicate effectively at all levels of the business.
  7. Respect other colleagues' views and ideas to build constructive working relationships.
  8. Communicate change effectively, supporting affected individuals.

Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure line performance is optimized.
  2. Communicate all issues to team leader/shift Production Manager.
  3. Notify Maintenance and Production Managers of services breakdown immediately.
  4. Notify Maintenance and Production Managers of any stoppages lasting one hour or more.
