English and MFL Academic Mentor Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced English and MFL academic mentor to join our team at Ribbons and Reeves. As a specialist in both English and Modern Foreign Languages, you will be responsible for mentoring GCSE students in a secondary school in Havering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions to support students in achieving their full potential in English and MFL
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and learning resources to meet the needs of students
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure seamless support for students
  • Monitor and track student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address these
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and develop a culture of excellence in teaching and learning
Requirements:
  • First Class degree in English and/or MFL from a top 20 UK university
  • Proven experience of teaching or mentoring in a secondary school setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers and other stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the GCSE curriculum in English and MFL, with the ability to develop and deliver engaging lessons
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of students and the school
