Support Worker for Young People in Care

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at North Lakes, working with young people in care.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable young individuals, supporting them with daily routines, promoting their well-being, and fostering strong relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for young people.
- Assist with daily routines, including personal care, meals, and bed-time routines, ensuring the physical and emotional needs of each individual are met.
- Accompany young people to medical appointments and other activities, providing support and guidance as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement activity plans, promoting social skills, education, and leisure activities.
- Maintain accurate records, complete paperwork, and perform daily room checks to ensure a clean and comfortable living environment.
- BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH YOUNG PEOPLE AND THEIR FAMILIES through regular communication, active listening, and empathy.
- Flexibility to work sleep-in nights and shift patterns, adapting to changing circumstances.
- Understanding of the complexities facing young people in care and a commitment to providing sensitive support.
- A residential childcare diploma or equivalent (or willingness to work towards) demonstrating expertise in caring for vulnerable individuals.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills, facilitating effective teamwork and relationships.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a small team, sharing knowledge, and best practices.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
- Sleep-in allowance of £62.64 per night, recognizing the importance of rest during this time.
