Recovery Practitioner

Via West Berkshire is a fully integrated substance use treatment service, providing clinical and psychosocial interventions. Our team actively promotes recovery and works with individuals affected by substance misuse, improving the health, wellbeing, and functioning of West Berkshire residents.
Role OverviewAs a Volunteer Harm Reduction Recovery Practitioner, you will support the delivery of interventions for service users. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing alcohol awareness and harm minimisation advice
- Supporting practitioners with service-user assessments and follow-up assessments
- Meeting with service users in their homes with a recovery practitioner
- Assisting service users to access wider services, including referrals to onward agencies
You will also participate in team meetings and carry out tasks as deemed necessary to support the needs of the service.
What We're Looking ForWe're seeking someone with a passion for the work we do, a positive attitude, and a desire to learn. A non-judgemental and supportive approach to people facing problems with drugs and alcohol is essential.
What Via Can Offer YouAs a volunteer, you will be allocated a volunteer supervisor who will provide ongoing support and supervision. You will also have access to central staff training opportunities, regular supervision, and reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses and lunch expenses.
