EC&I Design Specialist

Wood Digital Consulting is seeking an experienced Electrical, Control and Instrument (EC&I) Designer to support our UK project. The successful candidate will have a strong background in CAD and experience working in the oil and gas industry.

This is a 4-year project as part of a 5-year client contract with a potential 3-year extension. The role is home-based with the option to work from any Wood office in the UK, with mobility and travel to customer sites and face-to-face meetings with colleagues.

The ideal candidate will be able to pass a HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check and have experience of working with minimal direct supervision, taking site surveys, and designing instrument and control works.

The successful candidate will work closely with the project Instrument Design Engineers to ensure all drafting works are completed in accordance with the approved project schedule, standards, and within allocated man-hours.

Key requirements include:

  • Education to HNC/HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline or chartered engineering and member of an appropriate institute.
  • Proficiency in AutoDesk AutoCAD and MS products; Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Good level of industrial experience working in P&ID, Loop drawings, ISOs drafting.
  • Currently SC security cleared.
  • Experience on the Sellafield Site.
  • Experience of localised guaranteed non-interruptible supplies.
  • Understanding of Fibre Optic systems.
  • Communications experience.
  • 4G knowledge.
  • Knowledge of CIMAGE.
