Job Overview

In this role, you will support the full life cycle of projects from development and design to construction and commissioning.

You will take responsibility for developing and managing technical programs for energy efficiency and heat decarbonization projects.

The objective is to develop a technical solution that meets customer and funder requirements within the project's timeline and affordability envelope.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ownership of the customer journey from development opportunity to project start.
  • Developing multiple projects valued at £100k to £30m.
  • Managing internal and external facing project action trackers.
  • Coordinating survey and design programs with project managers and external planning resources.
  • Recording and managing technical risks as part of overall project risk management.
  • Resolving project challenges and sustaining momentum by coordinating technical resources and information.
  • Developing client opportunities for additional revenue and creating formal proposals.
  • Reporting statuses, actions, and escalations to senior project engineers.
  • Managing external design consultants for major packages such as heat pumps, boilers, chillers, energy centers, boreholes, and high-voltage infrastructure designs.
Key Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience in M&E design engineering.
  • Proven experience working on engineering project development from conception to delivery.
  • Analytical skills to appraise alternative solutions across cost, benefits, carbon impact, and implementation risks.
  • Knowledge of large-scale heating systems (2-10 MWth) and technologies like heat pumps, boilers, CHP, chillers, heat exchangers, and air handling units.
  • Planning and organizational skills to manage multiple project elements simultaneously.
  • Awareness of regulatory compliance for industrial projects, including planning, building control, fire, environmental permitting, noise assessments, and electrical connections.
  • Familiarity with energy-saving measures and initiatives from conception through delivery, such as building fabric improvements, solar PV, LED lighting, ECDC fans, and BMS upgrades.

  • $65,000-$80,000 per annum based on experience.
