Autism Specialist Outreach Professional

About the Role
Achieving for Children is seeking an experienced practitioner to join our Autism/SLCN Advisory Service in the Specialist Autism Outreach Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) role.
As a member of our team, you will work across Kingston and Richmond under the direction of a specialist advisory teacher, providing support to schools in meeting the needs of pupils with Autism and/or social communication difficulties.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out observations of pupils and provide recommendations to enable effective support in mainstream primary and secondary environments.
- Support schools in auditing and ensuring quality first teaching approaches and ordinarily available provision are in place.
- Work directly with children in their education settings, delivering and modeling interventions and strategies with support staff.
- Deliver relevant training to whole school or individual practitioners to upskill staff in the local area.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess proven classroom experience in supporting pupils with autism/social communication and language needs, as well as knowledge of successful approaches that work best with pupils with social communication and language difficulties.
