Job Title: PSV/Light Commercial Mechanic

Huyton Travel Limited is seeking a skilled PSV Technician to join our team on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine 6-weekly safety inspections and annual MOT preparation on fleet vehicles.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various bus makes, including Alexander Dennis, Optare, Fiat, Volkswagen, and Mercedes.
  • Accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and rectify issues, ensuring all vehicles are handled carefully and health and safety policies are adhered to.
  • Conduct road tests when required, if holder of HGV/PSV licence.
  • Maintain detailed records of planned and completed work, including parts used and ordered.
  • Work on various vehicle systems, including engines, gearboxes, running gear, electrical systems, and body repairs.
  • Review driver defect sheets daily and report all vehicle defects to the garage foreman.
  • Attend local breakdowns in and out of hours.
  • Ensure a high standard of organisation, including cleanliness and tidiness around the workshop.
Requirements:
  • Served a recognised apprenticeship as a Bus Mechanic/PSV Technician/HGV Engineer and hold a formal qualification to NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualifications in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
  • Gained a minimum of 2-years' experience in a similar work environment.
