Engineering Workshop Manager

Norwich-based company seeks an experienced Engineering Workshop Manager to oversee workshop operations and manage a team of engineers.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate and supervise workshop activities, prioritizing tasks and ensuring efficient use of resources.
  2. Develop and maintain relationships with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
  3. Prepare and submit quotes for repairs and new equipment, as well as produce reports on workshop activities.
  4. Organize and implement maintenance schedules for plant equipment to minimize downtime.
  5. Conduct repairs and fault-finding on pumps, motors, and gearboxes, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  6. Lead and manage the workshop team, providing guidance and support to ensure team members are equipped to perform their roles effectively.

Requirements

  1. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Engineering, with a strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.
  2. Minimum of 5 years' experience in an engineering and management role, with a proven track record of success in workshop operations.
  3. Ability to read and interpret panel drawings and understand control equipment, with a strong attention to detail.
  4. Current ECS Card is highly desirable, demonstrating a commitment to industry standards and best practices.
