Job Title: Structural Technical Customer Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Technical Customer Advisor to join our team at Platform Resourcing. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support to our customers, ensuring their inquiries and concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Offer detailed technical support for a variety of customer inquiries, maintaining exceptional customer service standards at all times.
  • Assist customers through various channels, including email and telephone, to ensure their inquiries and concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of a diverse range of technical products, with comprehensive training provided to ensure proficiency.
  • Communicate with customers to discuss and understand their specific technical specifications and drawing requirements, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Provide robust and informed technical advice and solutions for design-related issues, tailored to the specific needs of the product range.
  • Advise customers on suitable product alternatives or necessary amendments, ensuring these adjustments meet their technical and functional requirements.
  • Conduct detailed calculations and assessments to qualify the suitability of products for their intended use, with full training provided to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documents for both internal team use and external customer reference, ensuring information is clear and accessible.
  • Actively contribute to project work, including generating and developing innovative ideas for service and product improvements based on direct customer feedback and industry trends.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities, aiming to enhance processes, increase efficiency, and elevate the overall quality of support provided.
Requirements:
  • You will need to have experience within a Technical customer orientated Support within either Engineering/ Manufacturing/ Civil Engineering/ Construction.
  • Able to interpret and understand technical drawings with a basic knowledge of CAD/ Revit/ Solidworks or other design systems.
  • Experience of liaising with customers, getting better understandings of their design briefs or specifications.
  • Proven ability to pick up technical product knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Able to build rapport quickly and maintain relationships both over the phone and over email.
  • I.T. Literate.
Desirable:
  • Ability to use CAD/ Revit/ Solidworks/ Fusion 360 to create drawings.
  • Experience of calculating product suitability.

We offer a competitive salary of up to £45,000 (depending on experience), a yearly bonus of up to 10%, and a range of benefits including hybrid working, a contributory pension, and health and wellbeing programmes.
