Electrical Design Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing Technical Services Team in Fareham. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for various sectors, including marine, defence, energy, healthcare, and transport.

Your primary focus will be on designing industrial, mobile, and rugged computers and 19' racks and associated fittings. You will work closely with our engineering team to develop electrical design solutions for specific project requirements, prepare and present design reviews, and support design verification testing.

In addition, you will collaborate with NPI engineers to transfer knowledge and best practices in electrical designs for production. You will also engage with suppliers to ensure the implementation and use of their products or components.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and develop electrical systems for various sectors.
  2. Develop electrical design solutions for specific project requirements.
  3. Prepare and present design reviews.
  4. Support design verification testing.
  5. Collaborate with NPI engineers to transfer knowledge and best practices.
  6. Engage with suppliers to ensure implementation and use of their products or components.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related qualification.
  2. Significant experience in an engineering department working on the design of electrical aspects of multiple projects.
  3. Experience with electrical drawing software, preferably Solidworks Electrical or similar.
  4. Experience of working on military or aerospace projects, or other highly regulated industries.
  5. Experience of working to and auditing against electrical and safety standards.
