The Market Structure team sits within BlackRock's Global Trading organization, responsible for leading the strategic response to commercial, regulatory and technology driven changes in capital markets. The team engages externally with the industry and our public policy colleagues to advocate with policymakers, provide thought leadership, shape market structure, and represent BlackRock's view on regulatory issues which affect trading.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Market Structure Analyst to join our team. As a key member of the OTC Clearing steering committee, you will contribute to and prepare materials for quarterly meetings, evaluate new technology / execution platforms, review opportunities to clear new products, lead key regulatory and/or strategic projects, work closely with strategic partners, and provide input into our electronic trading strategy.

  • Ongoing oversight and support to trading teams for cleared swap workflows and intraday credit limits
  • Preparation and participation in external market structure meetings with key stakeholders: regulators, exchanges, CCPs, clearing brokers, industry associations / industry working groups
  • Partnership with public policy team to develop BlackRock ViewPoints and comment letters and/or responses to proposed regulation that will impact trading or liquidity

Responsibilities:

This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to write and deliver presentations, coordinate and lead projects amongst different levels & functions across the firm, and facilitate engagement with colleagues and deliver updates to key stakeholders. Prior experience or interest in working with data (knowledge of SQL/Python a plus but not crucial) and performing quantitative analysis is desirable. We offer a competitive salary of £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in financial services; knowledge in trading, derivative markets, regulatory landscape or trading technologies is an advantage
  • Understanding of financial markets across asset classes (FI, equity, FX, repo)
  • Excel and PowerPoint skills including the ability to leverage key functionalities to analyse and interpret data, and deliver presentations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to coordinate and lead projects amongst different levels & functions across the firm
