Precision Machinist

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at Magellan Aerospace Blackpool.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual with experience in manual and CNC grinding, particularly cylindrical grinding. As a Precision Machinist - Advanced Cylindrical Grinding Specialist, you will be responsible for machining aircraft components from generated engineering drawings, ensuring high precision and quality standards.

• Operating Manual and CNC Grinding Machines: You will be required to set up, operate, and maintain manual and CNC grinding machines, with a focus on cylindrical grinding.
• Component Change Overs: You will need to carry out component change overs for your own machines and colleagues when necessary.
• Maintenance and Housekeeping: You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized working environment, adhering to company health and safety policies.
• Communication and Teamwork: Effective communication with supervisors, managers, and colleagues is essential for success in this role.

• A Grade 4 Position: You must have a fully signed-off qualification against the operation of manual and CNC grinding, with a focus on cylindrical grinding.
• Academic Qualifications: A recognized engineering qualification, such as City & Guilds/NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or HNC, is required.
• Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in cylindrical grinding, both manual and CNC, is necessary.
• Skill Requirements: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and housekeeping skills are essential.

• Aerospace Manufacturing Experience: While not mandatory, experience in aerospace manufacturing is desirable.

Salary Range: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications.
