About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Assistant to join our team at BlueGreen Recruit Ltd. As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our clients, ensuring their dignity and well-being are maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with all aspects of personal care and support for our clients, including toileting, washing, feeding, and manual handling.
  • Work within agreed principles and guidelines, with limited supervision from the line manager.
  • Undertake personal care duties as required, maintaining the dignity and privacy of our clients.
  • Support our clients in a way that promotes independence and enables them to maintain their daily routines.
  • Participate in the maintenance of essential record keeping, through brief written recording on individual client records.
  • Undertake domestic tasks, such as cleaning and laundry, to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for our clients.
  • Comply with Health and Safety requirements in respect of manual handling and transfer hoisting, and the use of protective equipment to aid infection control.
  • Assist our clients in the performance of practical tasks, including shopping and community activities, to promote their independence and well-being.
  • Participate in organised activities to meet client needs, such as excursions, basic food preparation, and domestic tasks.
  • Act as a keyworker as and when required, providing ongoing support and care to our clients.
Person Specification
  • Must have a qualification or proven ability in literacy and basic mathematics.
  • Commitment to achieving NVQ Level 2 qualification.
  • Understanding of personal/physical care needs.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and privacy.
  • Proven experience in a caring capacity.
  • Ability to attend to and assist with a range of physical care needs.
  • Ability to work without close supervision.
  • Empathy with the needs of our clients.
  • Ability to follow care plans and instructions.
  • Ability to maintain/complete records.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Caring and understanding attitude.
  • Ability to reflect on and learn from experience.
  • Ability to work as an individual or as part of a team.
  • Commitment to the achievement of quality standards.
