We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to join our team at 24-7 Recruitment Services. As a Class 1 HGV Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across the UK, ensuring timely and efficient delivery to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a Class 1 HGV vehicle, safely and efficiently, to transport goods and materials across the UK.
  • Ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and materials to our clients.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Follow all relevant traffic laws and regulations, including hours of service and weight restrictions.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of goods and materials.
  • Participate in regular vehicle maintenance and repairs to ensure vehicle is in good working condition.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 1 HGV license.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Class 1 HGV driver.
  • Excellent knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects.

Working Conditions:

  • Work will be a mixture of trunking, store deliveries, trailer swaps, and shunting.
  • Driver must be flexible on start times, with mostly day work, but occasional afternoons or nights.
  • No handball or nights out.
  • Monday to Friday work, with occasional Saturdays.
  • Can be between 8-12 hour shifts, depending on the job needed on that day.
