About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our dynamic team at Everest Advisors (UK), Ltd. As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a critical role in supporting the expansion of our International Healthcare Practice, focusing on General Liability, Medical Malpractice, and Employers Liability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Growth: Collaborate with the team to develop and execute the Industry Practice plan, driving business growth and meeting Business Plan objectives.
  • Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of renewal business, including underwriting, pricing, and client relationships, and address new business requests.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with underwriters, actuaries, and claims teams to develop effective pricing models and handle claims-related issues.
  • Representation: Represent Everest at meetings, including visits to brokers and clients, fostering strong relationships and driving business growth.
  • Compliance: Ensure underwriting activities are conducted in compliance with Lloyd's and Everest standards, staying up-to-date on regulatory changes.
  • Continuous Learning: Invest in professional development through internal and external training, enhancing underwriting and product knowledge.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure timely and accurate processing and management information (MI) for individual accounts.
  • Innovation: Contribute to the improvement of rating models, underwriting manuals, service standards, and marketing materials.
Requirements
  • Underwriting experience with technical knowledge in International Healthcare.
  • Understanding of wholesale and retail business.
  • ACII qualification or significant progress towards it.
  • Strong strategic skills to analyze opportunities and threats.
  • Effective judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to take calculated risks with sound underwriting judgment.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to compliance with regulatory controls.
  • In-depth market and product knowledge, including competitor profiles.
  • Proven relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
