Cyber Security Expert Lead

Salary: £57,000 - £72,000 (plus bonus and healthcare benefits)

This role is part of the Iberdrola Renewables team, a leading developer of renewable energy in the UK & Ireland. We are committed to generating all our energy from renewable resources.

We focus on wind, solar, and smart grid technologies to create a cleaner, electric future.

The Cyber Security Expert Lead will be responsible for providing expertise in detecting vulnerabilities using detection tools, prioritizing and responding to contain and remediate those detected vulnerabilities. This role will communicate the outcome to relevant stakeholders and maintain documentation in vulnerability remediation options and tasks.

This role will be integrated into all parts of Iberdrola Renewables, contributing to delivering cyber resilient OT and IT to enable a safe and reliable electricity supply to the grid. You'll provide support in our ambitious security transformation programme to reduce risk, achieve compliance with regulations, and deliver a cyber resilient business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You'll be accountable for vulnerability triaging, issue ownership assignment, and risk-rating, reviewing alerts and prioritizing them based on severity and impact on the business.
  • You'll use security analytics, including outputs from intelligence analysis, predictive research, and root cause analysis to search for and detect potential breaches or identify recognized indicators and warnings.
  • You'll monitor, collate, and filter external vulnerability reports for organizational relevance, ensuring that relevant vulnerabilities are rectified through formal change processes.
  • You'll ensure disclosure processes are implemented to restrict knowledge of new vulnerabilities until appropriate remediation or mitigation is available, producing warning material in a timely and intelligible manner.
  • You'll generate analytic content, detection concepts, and network and host-based detection methods.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Enhanced skills in scoping and conducting vulnerability assessments, tests of potential exploitation, and reporting potential issues and mitigation options.
  • Extensive experience in threat detection and response within an operational technology or systems environment.
  • A track record of successfully delivering similar services in a complex, regulated enterprise.
  • A level of technical expertise to understand issues arising at the intersection of security, infrastructure, and human systems.
  • Strong communication skills to influence and persuade stakeholders, build working relationships with senior leadership and third parties, and manage colleagues.
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills to process new information under pressure, pivot work to yield impactful results, direct resources, and respond to emerging technology risks and threats.

What's in it for you:

  • A competitive salary, reviewed annually, and a range of benefits, including a pension scheme with company contribution, 36 days annual leave, and technology vouchers.
  • A supportive work environment with opportunities for career growth and development.
  • Access to training and professional development programmes to enhance your skills and expertise.
